SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Exclusive: Paul Schneider Talks NOS4A2

***Contains spoilers for 2.06***

Paul SchneiderTonight, AMC aired an all-new episode of its hit horror series, NOS4A2, called “The Hourglass.” In the episode we get to see more of the mysterious Jonathan ‘The Hourglass’ Beckett, played by Paul Schneider, when Maggie (Jahkara Smith) goes to meet him. Beckett has the powerful ability of being able to control people’s actions while there is sand left in his hourglass.

Not realizing who Maggie is or what she’s after, Beckett lets her in on a secret: you can stop your ability from having negative side effects, such as him losing his memory, if you hurt yourself or someone else. Of course, Beckett’s choice is now always to hurt someone else, and he plans to kill her. Maggie, however, is able to get the upper hand, stabs him in the stomach, and steps on his hourglass, destroying it.

Schneider recently talked to SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about his work on the show and what’s next for him.

Blu-Ray Review: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerI'll tell you up-front that I've been a Star Wars fan ever since I was sixteen when the first movie came out. I was already a Trekkie and sci-fi fan, so I was just mesmerized by the original Star Wars and its colorful universe. You can't underestimate the effect that movie had on many of us. Good sci-fi films and TV shows were relatively rare back then, and special effects were pretty bad. When George Lucas made the first Star Wars movie, he not only created a completely original universe full of unusual aliens, planets, handsome heroes, and butt-kicking heroines, but he actually created new cameras and other techniques still used in film today. His vision was the most important factor driving the films. When Empire Strikes Back came out three years later, it was not only a great sequel but an even better movie.

Book Review: The Bingewatcher's Guide to Doctor Who

**Due to an error this article was somehow not set to published. It was originally written back in March**

The Bingewatcher's Guide to Doctor WhoRiverdale Avenue Books has recently started a new line of books on television and movies, with the first one in the series being The Bingewatcher’s Guide to Doctor Who by Mackenzie Flohr. With Doctor Who being my favorite show currently on television and given the fact that the twelfth season just finished airing, I was really excited to receive the book for review.

The book focuses mostly on season eleven, but it works well as a recap, and it has a lot of other information in it.

The book is divided into a bunch of different sections. The beginning gives a history on how the series came to be and evolve, as well as how the author became an fan and how it inspired her. It also talks about how Chris Chibnall changed the series, including of course, the introduction of Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor.
