Warehouse 13 4.17 Review: “What Matters Most”

By John Keegan

warehouse_13_iconIt’s good to see that the writers are finally beginning to address the larger plot arcs for this half of the season, but I’m a bit puzzled at the decision to make the revelation at the very end so abrupt. I don’t recall seeing any kind of setup regarding Myka and medical tests in previous episodes. It’s entirely possible that I missed those hints, given how mediocre some of those episodes were, but it feels like this little revelation comes out of nowhere.

The Borgias 3.10 Review: “The Prince”

By John Keegan

borgias_iconWell, here it is, the series finale of The Borgias. Not only is it a bit early, but the very title of the episode promises a distinct shift in the intended story arc. Cesare Borgia, the influence for Machiavelli’s infamous work, comes into his own, even as Rodrigo conspires to change the Papacy in the most fundamental of ways.

True Blood 6.1 Review: “Who Are You, Really?”

By John Keegan

true_blood_iconThis is the first season of True Blood after the departure of Alan Ball, and as such, there is likely to be a transitional period as the series tries to pull itself out of the cycle of endless meandering that marked much of the past few seasons. Finding a consistent and comprehensive direction for the series is a must at this point, especially since many of the show’s most dedicated fans admit that the show seems aimless.

Burn Notice 7.2 Review: “Forget Me Not”

By John Keegan

burn_notice_iconThis is the 100th episode of Burn Notice, and the writers clearly wanted to deliver a bit of a special moment to the fans. In this case, it is a series of flashbacks to the beginning of Michael and Fiona’s relationship in Ireland. While it does end up twisting the proverbial knife at the end of the episode, it also delivers a seemingly endless stream of incredibly bad Irish accents. So bad that it makes one wonder how either of them could possibly be credible espionage experts running an operation in that country!

Exclusive: Lexa Doig Talks Continuum Season 2

Interview with Lexa Doig for Continuum on May 24, 2013
Interview by Jamie Ruby
Written by Jamie Ruby

Lexa DoigRecently Continuum returned to Syfy for its second season. The series, created and executive produced by Simon Barry, follows Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), a cop from 2077 who is trapped in present day after traveling back in time without her consent with a group of terrorists called Liber8, bent on changing things. One of the interesting things about the series is that the lines are often blurred as it seems Liber8 is trying to create a better and free future, though going about it in the wrong way.

One of the members of Liber8 is Sonya Valentine, played by Lexa Doig, who was left in charge after the death of their leader, Edouard Kagame (Tony Amendola). Originally a doctor as opposed to a soldier, she might have some new ideas about how to continue on. Regardless, she followed through on shooting Liber8 member and lover Travis Verta (Roger Cross), as one of Kagame's last requests. The shot, however, she came to find out, was not fatal.

Doig recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about this season.
