Advance Preview: The Magicians Season Three is Magical Even Without Magic

The MagiciansAt the end of season two of The Magicians, all the characters are devastated by the loss of magic after Quentin (Jason Ralph) kills Ember (Dominic Burgess). Not only has magic gone from Brakebills and all of Earth, but also from Fillory, where only creatures born with magic can still use it, which causes even more problems when the fairies take over the kingdom from Eliot (Hale Appleman) and Margo (Summer Bishil), as well as take Eliot and Fen (Brittany Curran)’s child.

Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) is left with a warning that the lamprey she wronged is coming after her, and Penny (Argun Gupta)’s fate is left undetermined.

The students depressingly study theoretical magic under Dean Fogg (Rick Worthy), however, there is a ray of hope when Quentin learns that Julia (Stella Maeve) can create some literal sparks of magic.

Falling WaterTonight Falling Water returns to USA Network with all-new episodes for season two. Falling Water follows three unrelated people who learn they can affect reality from inside their dreams. Together they must work to stop those that wish to control and use dreaming for their own purposes.

The show picks up where it left off. Tess (Lizzie Brocheré) has escaped with her son, James, and is working to keep him safe. Meanwhile, Burton (David Ajala) focuses on trying to bring down the Firm and meet with the Woman in Red (Anna Wood), while Taka (Will Yun Lee) takes on a new murder case that could be connected to dreams.

Advance Preview: The X-Files Returns Full Force with All-New Classics

The X-FilesWednesday, The X-Files returns with Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) to FOX with all-new episodes for season eleven. Recently journalists received the first five episodes for review.

The show is back this week in full swing, starting with  with “My Struggle Part III,” written and directed by Chris Carter, which addresses the events in last season’s finale, and reveals some shocking news.

Blu-ray Review: Atomic Blonde - Out Now

Atomic BlondeBased on the graphic novel The Coldest City by Kurt Johnstad and set during the Cold War, Atomic Blonde follows undercover MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) as she is sent to Berlin to investigate another agent (Sam Hargrave)’s murder, as well as recover a list of double agents before it gets into the wrong hands. Upon reaching her destination, she is required to join forces with fellow agent David Percival (James McAvoy).

The movie boasts an excellent cast. Theron was made for this role, and I really liked the interplay and tension between her and McAvoy. John Goodman as Emmett Kurzfeld as well as Eddie Marsan as Spyglass were also a fine additions.

Exclusive: Bzhaun Rhoden Talks Felix's Journey on Van Helsing

Bzhaun RhodenTonight Syfy aired an all-new episode of its series Van Helsing, "Save Yourself." In the episode, Vanessa (Kelly Overton) and the other survivors save the kids from the detention center, including Felix, played by Bzhaun Rhoden, who had been tortured by not only his other peers, but also by psycho vampire Sam (Chris Heyerdahl), who cut his tongue out in the previous episode.

Bzhaun RhodenTonight Syfy aired an all-new episode of its series Van Helsing, "A Home." In the episode, as Vanessa (Kelly Overton) mourns her daughter's death, she and Julius (Aleks Paunovich) fight a new group of vampires.

Meanwhile, Sam (Chris Heyerdahl) continues to kill those at the detention center, leaving Felix, played by Bzhaun Rhoden, to watch. Sam misses his friendship with Mohammed (Trezzo Mahoro) and tries to break Felix and change him into a replacement. When he refuses, Sam cuts out his tongue.
