Amazon Picks Up Syfy's The Expanse for Season Four

There has been rumors recently that Amazon might be picking up the cancelled Syfy series, The Expanse. Amazon Prime already has the streaming rights to the first two seasons.

Season four was confirmed yesterday evening, when stars and producers of the series participated in a panel at the National Space Society Conference in Los Angeles, the largest west coast gathering of scientists, engineers, astronauts, and space entrepreneurs, whose careers were inspired by science fiction.

During the event, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos revealed to fans that The Expanse had been saved.

Co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson of Alcon Entertainment, who produce the series, which is currently airing season three on Syfy, said in a statement, “We couldn't be more excited that The Expanse is going to continue on Amazon Prime! We are deeply grateful that Jeff Bezos, Jen Salke, and their team at Amazon have shown such faith in our show. We also want to thank Laura Lancaster, head of Alcon Television for her tireless efforts. We are fully aware that this wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the staggering outpouring of support from the most creative, hardest working sci-fi fans around the world. From reddit campaigns to airplanes, we say thank you. It worked!”

Star of the series, Cas Anvar, captured the moment and posted it on Twitter:
