Based on the books by Tony DiTerlizzi, the animated series WondLa, which premiered today on Apple TV+, follows Eva, voiced by Jeanine Mason, a curious teenager, raised alone in a state-of-the-art underground bunker by her robot caretaker Muthr, voiced by Teri Hatcher. After an attack on the bunker on her sixteenth birthday, Eva is forced to climb to the surface of the Earth, which, now called Orbona, she finds has been inhabited by aliens, and there no humans are around. Eva leads Muthr, as well as water bear, Otto (voiced by Brad Garrett), and alien, Rovender (voiced by Gary Anthony Williams), on a quest to find humans, her home, and ultimately, her destiny.

Actress Hatcher, who originally narrated the audio books, was first approached by DiTerlizzi about working on the series. Recently, when speaking with SciFi Vision about working on the project, she talked about the collaboration aspect of an animation. “[T]hat's my favorite thing about it.” Hatcher explained, “What the animators are doing and what you're doing, and what the director and the producers are doing, it's kind of a constant circling back between all of you until the whole thing cements together, and I really appreciate being a part of a group of artists in that way.” 

Broadway performer, entrepreneur, and educator Robert Hartwell took a photo of himself in front of his newly purchased home, posted it, and his life changed. Hartwell would go on to take on the challenge of renovating the 200-year-old Massachusetts house that had a complicated history. It’s a renovation story that celebrates his journey and those who came before him.

Recently, Hartwell spoke with SciFi Vision about the renovation and what it means to him to be able to share such an experience, including both the ups and downs.

AMC NETWORKS RENEWS ANNE RICE’S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE FOR A THIRD SEASON

HBO HARRY POTTER Series Finds Its Writer And Director

Francesca Gardiner to Showrun and Executive Produce, and Mark Mylod to Executive Produce and Direct Multiple Episodes of the HBO Original Series

HBO, in association with Warner Bros. Television, has named Francesca Gardiner (HBO’s “Succession” and “His Dark Materials,” “Killing Eve”) as showrunner and executive producer, and Mark Mylod (HBO’s “Succession,” “Game of Thrones” and “The Last of Us”) as executive producer and director of multiple episodes of the upcoming original Harry Potter series. The new series, currently in development, will be available on Max’s expanding global footprint.

Series Info: The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved “Harry Potter” book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling. The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters “Harry Potter” fans have loved for over twenty-five years. In an exclusive interview with SciFi Vision, King talked about how she got to travel on location for the movie, making the experience that much better. 

“It was filmed in Italy, just all outside of Rome, at just the most beautiful, romantic places you've ever seen, just as charming in real life as they look on screen,” she shared. “It was incredible. I mean, a lot of things don't film where they're really set, and I was lucky enough to get a movie that was actually filmed in Italy, and it was amazing.”

Tonight’s all-new episode of Doctor Who, “Empire of Death,” brought an end to the season, as well as the storylines surrounding both the mystery of Ruby (Millie Gibson)’s mother and the arrival of Sutekh, while also posing some new questions. In the episode, Sutekh revealed his plans, which was to turn everyone on every planet the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) ever visited to dust. It started out as a bit of a shock when first Kate (Jemma Redgrave) and everyone at UNIT, and then subsequently, Ruby’s family, as well as even Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) were killed. Eventually the whole planet was wiped out, leaving it up to the Doctor, Ruby, and Mel (Bonnie Langford) to find a way to bring them back. It all culminated when the Doctor realized that Sutekh wouldn’t kill them until he learned the secret of Ruby’s birth mother’s identity, which Ruby used to lure him close enough for them to hook him to the TARDIS and pull him into the time vortex, where the Doctor could use death to kill death and therefore bring back life.

First let me say, the beats of the episode and the way it was shot made it feel very exciting, and as always, Gatwa and Gibson were a treat. Bringing Mel into the mix to round out the trio made it even better.

The set of the Remembered TARDIS was extremely cool and one of my favorite parts of the episode. I absolutely loved how it was filled with memories from the series, like pieces of the Doctor’s old costumes, and many other little references for fans. There were even some other outright references to old episodes outside of it, with the Doctor saving the world with a spoon, as well as Mrs. Flood calling him a “Clever Boy.”
