Tonight Fox premieres its new series
The Last Man on Earth, in a special one-hour series premiere event.
The show follows Phil Miller, played by Will Forte, in 2020 after a virus has wiped out the population and he is the only man left. After traveling the country searching for survivors, Phil returns to Tucson alone to face being the last man.
Creator, executive producer, writer, and star Will Forte, along with executive producers and directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, talked to the press earlier in the week about their new series.
The group first talked to SciFi Vision about how the concept for the series came about. Miller told the site, “It was a team effort. Phil and Will and I hung out for several days. We wanted to make a TV show together, and we’ve been friends for many years.”
Lord added, “We came to Will as a writer first. We said, “Look, I obviously would love for you to be in this.” But we met Will when he was a writer, and that’s how he was paying his rent, and we just had so much respect for him and his voice, and we just wanted to figure out the best vessel to get that on to television.”
