SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet
David Lambert on ABC Family's The Fosters
By Lynn Tackitt
Over the years we have watched television and film make changes in quality and of daring content. As the roles of parents and the situations of family life changes, the entertainment industry also changes. ABC Family has premiered a new show called The Fosters with the storyline of two mothers raising both biological and adopted multi-ethnic children.
David Lambert plays the biological son of one of the moms, and as he chatted with the press, he told us of the new role, the story lines, and that although he likes the up and coming talent on the show, he likes to stay rooted in the classic actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro.

Warehouse 13 4.16 Review: “Runaway”
By John Keegan
The second half of the fourth season of Warehouse 13 has been perplexing. The first half was devoted to a relatively strong overarching set of plot and character arcs, and there was every reason to believe the same would be true for the second segment of the season. So why does it feel like there is no direction at all, with only four episodes to go before the season ends?

By John Keegan and Gregg Wright
Based on the previous two seasons, it was no surprise that the ninth episode of this season served as the real climax, while the final episode served as more of an epilogue and a transition into the next season. That’s the standard format for the show and it will probably remain that way for the rest of its run. I know little of how the books were written, but it stands to reason that this format was chosen simply because it closely follows the storytelling in the books. I haven’t read the books, but I think it fairly likely that the aftermaths of Ned’s death, the Battle of the Blackwater, and the Red Wedding all received an ample amount of description at the ends of each book.

Peterson: The Languages of "Defiance"
If you've watched Syfy's series Defiance, you've no doubt heard two of the Votan races, Irathient and Castithan, speaking in their native tongues. What you may not realize is how much is involved in creating a language for a series, let alone two. It's not just a few made up words, but rather entire languages are created. These include pronunciation and grammar rules just like any other language. The two languages and writings systems of Defiance were created by David J. Peterson, who also previously created the languages on Game of Thrones.Peterson recently talked to Jamie Ruby in a exclusive interview for SciFi Vision about what it took to create these languages.
Burn Notice 7.1 Review: “The New Deal”
By John Keegan
Burn Notice is a show that has burnt its fans with broken promises too many times for anyone to take claims of increased serialization seriously. Wasn’t that supposed to be the intention of the past three seasons? Instead, it was more of the same, with little indication that the status quo would change in a meaningful way. But with Burn Notice coming to a definitive close at the end of this season, perhaps the writers finally feel like they can break out of the formulaic mold.
