“THE MAKING OF DIG” is a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of USA Network’s event series DIG (March 5, 2015).  The half-hour special delves into the conspiracies and mysteries explored in this action thriller.  Series creators Tim Kring ("Heroes") and Gideon Raff ("Homeland") invite viewers behind the scenes providing rare access to the murder mystery’s international locations.  Additionally, in-depth interviews with DIG executive producer Gail Berman and pilot director SJ Clarkson, along with series stars Golden Globe Nominee Jason Isaacs, Emmy Award Winner Anne Heche, Emmy Award Nominee Lauren Ambrose, Golden Globe Award Winner Regina Taylor, Alison Sudol, David Costabile, Tony Award Nominee Omar Metwally, Screen Actors Guild Award Winner Richard E. Grant and Ori Pfeffer are featured.

Last month FOX premiered its series Backstrom. The show follows Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom, played by Rainn Wilson, who leads the Portland Special Crimes Unit, as he solves crimes in his own unorthodox and often offensive ways. Wilson recently spoke to the media about his role on the series.

Network Ranks #1 Among Big 4 Competition This Season in Adults 18-49 and All Key Demos

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — February 5, 2015 — NBC has announced it’s renewing dramas “The Blacklist” (season 3), “Chicago Fire” (season 4), “Chicago P.D.” (season 3), “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (season 17) and “Grimm” (season 5) for the 2015-16 season.

For the 2014-15 season to date, NBC ranks #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics. NBC’s 2.9 average rating for the season in adults 18-49 is the network’s highest through 19 weeks of the season since 2008-09 (3.1).

“The creative vision of the executive producers who’ve guided these outstanding dramas has been nothing short of incredible,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “We’re highly appreciative of the passion they bring to their shows at every step of the creative process and we’re thrilled to reward that dedication with these renewals.”

This season, actor Kevin Durand joins the cast of History’s Vikings, as Harbard, a wanderer who arrives unexpectedly in Kattagat during the men’s raid in England. The mysterious man’s arrival will have significant impact on the other characters.

Yesterday, Durand talked to the press about his new role and what fans can expect in the third season.

The actor talked to SciFi Vision about how he became involved in the series of which he was already a fan. “I’m a big fan of the show. I had watched the first season before I first heard that Michael Hirst was interested in me coming in and playing the character, and then when I started hearing that, I just binged watched the second season, and it became one of my favorite shows on television. They started sending me some pages, and the words were so alluring that were on the page, and I thought, wow, this is really interesting. I’ve never played anyone like this, and how great to be a part of this great show.”

SYFY’S DEFIANCE COMMENCES PRODUCTION IN TORONTO

Season Three Set to Launch Summer 2015 With New Cast Additions Lee Tergesen, Nichole Galicia and Conrad Coates

NEW YORK – February 2, 2015 – Production has commenced in Toronto, ON for the 13-episode third season of Syfy’s highly-rated Defiance, featuring new cast additions Lee Tergesen (The Americans) as military leader General Rahm Tak, Nichole Galicia (Django Unchained) as Kindzi and Conrad Coates (The Strain) as her father, T’evgin (both part of a new alien race known as the Omec).  Produced by Universal Cable Productions, season two of Defiance delivered an average of 1.2 million viewers 18-49 and 2.7 million total viewers (based on Live +7 data).

Following the events of the season two cliffhanger finale, season three of Defiance opens on the eve of an impending military siege upon the town, which has fallen on hard times following the collapse of its lucrative mines.  Their fate uncertain, the townspeople face further threat with the surprise arrival of the mysterious and nearly extinct Omec, an alien race of warriors marked by the decades of subjugation they imposed upon the galaxy in the years preceding the Pale Wars.
