Season one of Syfy’s space drama,
Dark Matter, comes to a close tonight in two back-to-back episodes. In preparation, stars Melissa O’Neil, Alex Mallari, Jr., Jodelle Ferland, and Roger Cross, as well as executive producer Joe Mallozzi, talked to the digital media earlier in the week.
Ferland talked to SciFi Vision about Five’s growth throughout the season. “I loved being able to show the differences in Five’s character throughout the series, because at first, I think people really underestimate her. She is the little one; she looks like she’s just a kid in the group that doesn’t really fit in. It’s very clear that she stands out, you know? I mean, not only does she have the colorful hair and the quirky clothing, but she’s just different.
"She doesn’t seem like the tough crew like everybody else, but throughout the series, you get to see that she has a lot of skills, and she has quite a lot to contribute to the crew that you might not realize she had in the beginning, and she gets much stronger, and she really puts herself out there and shows that she belongs there.”
