On Sunday AMC premiered its new series
Humans. The series takes place in an alternate present where people own “Synths,” or synthetics, artificially intelligent human looking servants to help them in their everyday lives.
William Hurt stars as Dr. George Millican, a brilliant scientist who worked on the original Synth project, but has since left. His memories are failing, and his only hope to remember his late wife is his Synth, Odi (Will Tudor), who he treats more like a son than a robot; however, Odi is obsolete and starting to fail as well.
Hurt recently talked to the media about his work on the new series.
The actor talked to SciFi Vision about what it was that first attracted him to the role. “Well, initially it was just the title. And because that's my topic, you know. And then I realized that it was about human beings and machines, but still titled
Humans; it was intriguing. And it's about a topic that I've been interested in most of my life.
