SYFY AND THE ASYLUM’S SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO! TO CONSUME THE WORLD WEDNESDAY, JULY 22

ORIGINAL MOVIE WILL PREMIERE IN 86 COUNTRIES – ACROSS ALL SYFY CHANNELS – WITHIN 24 HOURS OF US PREMIERE

NEW YORK – March 18, 2015 – Syfy and The Asylum today announced that the official title of the latest installment in the global pop culture sensation is Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! The two-hour original movie will devour the planet on Wednesday, July 22 at 9/8c.

In addition, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will wreak havoc on all Syfy channels around the world – 86 countries in all, including the UK, Australia and across Europe, Asia and Latin America - when it premieres in international primetime within 24 hours of the United States debut.

Said Chris Regina, Senior Vice President, Program Strategy, Syfy: “We wanted this third title to boldly go where no shark movie has gone before. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! embraces the larger-than-life irreverence that has made these movies so popular and entertaining.”

Fans were shocked when Sarina-Joi Crowe was the first of American Idol's top twelve to be eliminated.  But Crowe, a four-time contestant on Idol, has no regrets.  In a recent conversation with journalists, Crowe said she learned a lot from the experience.

"One valuable thing that I will take from this show for the rest of my life is that when you have a gut feeling about something, and your gut is telling you something, you need to follow your gut, no matter what. So if a million people are chattering away at you about what you need to do, but they’re not out there doing it, you are, who’s going to be disappointed in the end if it doesn’t work out - you or them?"

The FOX network's breakout hit, Empire, closes its first season Wednesday night with a two-hour, star-studded blowout featuring Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson, Juicy J, Patti LaBelle and Rita Ora. Fans must wait a few more hours for answers to our most burning questions. Will Lucious name his succesor? How will his sons handle last week's betrayal? Will Cookie and Malcolm's affair be revealed? Most importantly, what will Cookie wear?

In a recent conversation with reporters, series creator Danny Strong (Game Change, Mockingjay) told us everything - and nothing.

"Do you want me to tell you who gets the empire? What the hell, I’ll just tell you," he joked, before teasing us mercilessly. "It’s a very explosive finale... and many things go down. Many things will be resolved, alliances will shift, and yet it may or may not be completely resolved by the time it’s over."

Strong was a master of evasion, keeping the conversation almost entirely spoiler-free.  He promised "a ton of great musical numbers," including a song from Jennifer Hudson. And Cookie will get into a catfight, although Strong wouldn't tell us with whom.

The one thing he did guarantee was answers. "A lot will be resolved. We’re not going to Laura Palmer the finale."

This Saturday, March 21 from 11pm – 2am e/p FX will air three episodes of FOX’s new crime series Backstrom.

Backstrom stars Rainn Wilson as Det. Lt. Everett Backstrom; Genevieve Angelson as Det. Nicole Gravely; Dennis Haysbert as Det. Sgt. John Almond; Kristoffer Polaha as Sgt. Peter Niedermayer; Page Kennedy as Officer Frank Moto; Beatrice Rosen as Nadia Paquet; Thomas Dekker as Gregory Valentine.

Episodes:

“Dragon Slayer” (Airs March 21 at 11pm e/p) – Emmy® Award nominee Rainn Willson stars as Everett Backstrom, an unhealthy, offensive, irascible – albeit brilliant – detective who sees the worst in everyone, and he’s usually right. After a five-year banishment to the traffic division for offensive behavior, he has returned from disgrace to lead Portland’s newly minted Special Crimes Unit (S.C.U.). Tasked with navigating the city’s most sensitive and serious cases, he must solve each crime as he tries, and fails, to change his own self-destructive behavior. In the series premiere, the S.C.U. investigates the death of a college student. Initially deemed a suicide, the team discovers the boy’s death was in fact a drug-fueled homicide. With Backstrom’s unorthodox investigative techniques, the team must utilize all of their individual skills and work together to catch the killer. Meanwhile, Backstrom’s doctor Deb Chaman (guest star Rizwan Manji) threatens to fail him on his physical if he doesn’t start making healthy choices, and prescribes him to make one new friend.

USA TO PREMIERE ITS INTENSE NEW HACKER DRAMA MR. ROBOT
AT SXSW ON MARCH 17

Mr. Robot Among 5 TV series Selected To Debut at The Festival

E! News Correspondent Marc Malkin to Moderate Panel and Q&A with Stars from the Series, Including Rami Malek and Christian Slater

AUSTIN, TX – March 16, 2015 – USA Network will screen the world premiere of the new psychological thriller MR. ROBOT at the SXSW Film Festival on Tuesday, March 17 at 1:00pm at the Vimeo Theater, followed by a Q&A and panel discussion featuring the cast and executive producer Sam Esmail (“Comet”). The series, which stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater, was selected as one of five shows for the festival’s prestigious “Episodics” screening category, now in its second year.

Tuesday The CW will be premiering its new series, iZombie.

Zombies are certainly popular as of late with the success of the hugely watched The Walking Dead and other recent projects like Syfy's Z Nation and films the past few years such as World War Z and Warm Bodies. Comparisons are obviously going to be made by many. Upon reading about iZombie, however, it seemed like it would be something different, and it was.

iZombie is a quirky and fun romp. It's got the humor and heart of Warm Bodies, but it's definitely its own thing. The show doesn't take itself too serious at times, which is as it should be.

The series, which is based upon characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred for the comic book of the same name, follows Olivia "Liv" Moore, played by Rose McIver (Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time), who has a bright future ahead of her in medicine and even a handsome fiance (Robert Buckley); everything is falling into place. Then suddenly everything is ripped away from her one night when she is turned into a zombie. Everything changes, from her look, to her upbeat personality.
