May 14th FOX will premiere its new 10 episode limited series
Wayward Pines. The psychological thriller, starring Matt Dillon, is based on Blake Crouch's international best-selling book series and was adapted for television by Chad Hodge. The premiere episode was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, who also serves as executive producer.
The series follows Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Dillon) and his search for two missing agents, including his partner, Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino), which is turned upside-down when he enters the strange town of Wayward Pines. Outwardly the town looks idyllic: a great place to settle down and raise a family, but all is not what it seems. When his car is hit head on by a truck, Burke is thrust into the community.
Within ten minutes of starting
Wayward Pines, I already could tell I would be hooked on this series. As usual with Shyamalan's projects, the show has a creepy atmosphere that leaves you questioning everything and wanting more, and is of course filmed beautifully.
