McDermitt, Payton, Matsuura, & McAuliffe Talk The Walking Dead Season 11, Now Available on AMC+

The Walking DeadToday, The Walking Dead season eleven comes to AMC+ with a linear premiere following next Sunday on AMC. At the start of the season, those in Alexandria struggle to refortify the town and feed all the survivors. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her new group the Wardens, along with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Alden (Callan McAuliffe), and a few others, go off in search of food, while unbeknownst to the others, Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), and Princess (Paola Lázaro) are being held by the solders of a new and mysterious group.

In preparation of the premiere, McDermitt, Payton, Matsuura, and McAuliffe recently talked to media about the new season.

The actors talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision about people making decisions for the group and how it can affect the individuals. When it comes to Eugene’s group, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess agreed to continue to follow Eugene on his hunt for Stephanie, but in Maggie’s group, she made a decision that not everyone agreed with.

Matsurra thinks other characters might not have made the same choice as they did to follow Eugene. “I think that it's not an accident that this particular group is Ezekiel,Yumiko - well, we pick up Princess (Paola Lázaro) on the way, but it's like, it wasn't Maggie that was going with Eugene. It was very particular people that did go with Eugene. And I think it's because those characters…have nothing left. They were kind of like at the end of, not the end of the road, but the end of sort of their time and their function in their past community.

“So, like for Yumiko, she'd just come out of a breakup. All of her group had kind of dispersed and gone off to do other things, and Eugene's going off on this mission, and [she] was like, ‘I'll come. I'll come; I've got I've got nothing to lose.’ So, it was more about a personal motivation, whereas, you know, I think for Callan's group…the temperature of that mission was a little different, and there's a lot more people with clashing ideas. Whereas with us, we were kind of all on a unified mission to go out and just see what's out there and find something better.”

Hulu 2021 Summer TCA Press Tour Panel Interview: Nine Perfect Strangers

HuluAugust 18th, Hulu premieres the first three episodes of its new and original limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers. The series, based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, takes places a health-and-wellness resort and tells the story of nine strangers who come for a ten-day retreat, hoping to be healed and transformed but meet the mysterious resort director, Masha (Nicole Kidman), and may get more than they bargained for.

Recently, cast members Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, and Kidman, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, as well as executive producers David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea, Per Saari, and Jonathan Levine talked to the media during a panel as part of the TCAs.

Two of the cast members talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision about what it was like laying in a grave during a scene when the characters were told by Masha to confront their mortality. Cannavale thought that it was a good exercise. “It’s certainly confronting.  I mean, I know just speaking for myself, I think what she tells us to visualize is a pretty unorthodox method.  But I don't know, in thinking about it, it’s pretty effective.  I know for myself, I definitely try to think about all the things that she asks us to think about, and when you're surrounded like that by all that dirt, it’s extremely confronting.

“I will tell you that whenever we cut camera, every single person got out of those holes pretty quickly.  We didn't like, hang out.  Nobody brought me water in the hole.  So, I think as a method, it’s not one I would have thought of and yet, I think it’s pretty confronting.  That's all I can say, yeah.”

Tim Rozon and Sarah LevyThe new drama, SurrealEstate, follows Luke Roman (Tim Rozon) and his team of real estate agents, who sell houses that no one else can: those that have been haunted or possessed and therefore frighten away buyers. The Roman Agency also includes new team member, Susan Ireland (Sarah Levy), who is great a closing properties.

Recently Rozon and Levy talked to journalists about the new series, which premieres tonight on Syfy.

Levy told Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision that she would like to have a ghostly experience like some of her cast mates. “I do believe in all of this stuff. I haven't actually experienced anything in my life, or on this set, or any other set. I kind of wish spooky things happened on this set, but that being said, there were places that people were staying where they were finding a lot of spooky things, vibes happening. So, it was around; I just didn't get anything.”

Rozon told the site that his opinion of the supernatural changed after hearing about the spooky stuff that happened to some of the cast at the nearby hotel. “Going in, I was one hundred percent a non-believer. After wrapping, I'm not as convinced there isn't something, and it has to do mostly with just a large number of guest stars that did experience something that they compared to a ghostly experience, and it was staying at a supposed haunted hotel. I mean, it was just, almost everybody had [something]. It was a lot. So, it's tough to not believe everybody, but I didn't experience anything myself. I'm open for it. Supposedly it’s the sensitivity or something you have to have. I don't know. Maybe I don't have that sensitivity.”
