SYFY WIRE EXPANDS ITS NERDDOM WITH WEEKLY SNAPCHAT SHOW ‘GEEKLY’
 
News Site’s First Snapchat Show Debuts Thursday, December 7 for Eight-Week Run
 
NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 7, 2017 – SYFY today announces the launch of SYFY WIRE’s first Snapchat Show, GEEKLY. Premiering Thursday, December 7, GEEKLY tackles the biggest genre news and events from the week. Hosts Andre Meadows (Black Nerd Comedy) and Whitney Moore (Geek and Sundry) are set to bring their expertise, humor and passion to debate, dissect and break it all down for Snapchatters. New episodes will premiere on Thursdays at 6AM EST on Snapchat’s Discover page and will be three to five minutes in length. In addition, previously released episodes of GEEKLY will be available to audiences using Snapchat’s Search feature.

Each episode of GEEKLY leads with an opinion-driven round up of the latest nerd news. From there, Andre and Whitney delve into a different topic or theme from the genre zeitgeist. Snapchatters can watch the first episode of GEEKLY using the Snapcode, available for download HERE.
 
The launch of GEEKLY comes as SYFY continues to expand its genre news site, SYFY WIRE, following a summer 2017 brand reboot. GEEKLY is one of the latest projects to be rolled out in partnership between Snapchat and NBCUniversal, the first major media company to develop and produce Shows for the platform. GEEKLY is produced by NBCUniversal’s Digital Lab, which currently produces “The Rundown” in conjunction with E! News and has several other Shows from NBCUniversal brands in development for Snapchat.
