SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Exclusive: Anna Silk - Bo is Perfectly Imperfect

Exclusive Interview with Anna Silk for Lost Girl
Interview by Jamie Ruby
Written by Jamie Ruby

Anna SilkAnna Silk stars as the succubus Bo in the popular series Lost Girl, which airs Mondays on Syfy. The actress recently sat down with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview.

The fourth season of Lost Girl starts out without its lead actress, because Bo is missing, but the timing couldn't have worked out better. "I was pregnant at the very end of season three, so I was really super-newly-pregnant in the finale. I told them about my pregnancy shortly after we wrapped, and it was just luck that they happened to make me disappear at the end of season three. Everyone went in separate directions at the end of season three but specifically for Bo, I went up in the black smoke and all that stuff, so that worked out really well for them in terms of reintroducing season four without me available.

Kenny Loggins Guest Stars on Archer

By Karen Moul

Kenny LogginsArcher fans are headed for the danger zone this week when Kenny Loggins lends his voice to the series. In the Monday, March 3 episode, Archer decides to give Lana the perfect baby shower gift by forcing "K-Log" to sing a duet with Cherlene.

Loggins is a longtime fan of the show and was happy to guest star. “My oldest boy turned me on to Archer right at the very beginning,” he told journalists. “Everybody was calling me going, ‘Have you seen Archer’s referring to 'Danger Zone?’ Absolutely. We saw it right from the beginning.”

Loggins also said he had a ball making the episode, hinting that “I’m total badass in this episode and it’s fun." But he admits he wasn’t sure at first about singing with Cherlene.

“I didn’t believe that they could turn 'Danger Zone' into a country song,” he explained, “which makes it even funnier because that’s the last song of my repertoire that you’d expect to be turned into a country song.”

In a wide ranging interview, Loggins also talked about his music career and what it’s like to create an animated alter-ego. Read the complete transcript below.

Archer airs Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. on FX. Kenny and Cherlene’s duet of “Danger Zone” will be available March 3 with the release of Archer’s 12-track album, titled Cherlene.

Being Human Series Finale to Air 4/7

That's right, series finale. It saddens me to post this, but Syfy has cancelled one of its best scripted shows, Being Human. This came as part of the press announcement, as well as the video below.

With the second half of "Being Human's" 4th season set to kick off, our human-at-heart characters are about to embark on a journey full of twists, turns and surprises that will culminate in a spectacular series finale on Syfy, Monday, April 7th.

Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series' production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work. They've saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story's beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.

See the goodbye/thank you video from the cast after the jump. More info will be posted if it comes along.

Vera Farmiga & EP Kerry Ehrin on Bates Motel Season 2

By Jamie Ruby

Vera Farmiga and Kerry EhrinBate Motel returns for a second season to A&E on March 3rd. In preparation, star Vera Farmiga and executive producer Kerry Ehrin talked to the digital media about what fans can expect.

Ehrin talked to SciFi Vision about using the original film the series is based on, Psycho, as inspiration, yet keeping it their own. "I think that from the very beginning Carlton [Cuse] and I wanted to honor the movie, but not be beholden into it. So I think at this point the world of Bates Motel has definitely become its own organic world.

"So while we're still conscious of the film, and obviously there's certain tent poles let's say that the film suggests, it kind of has become its own beast at this point."

American Idol's Randy Jackson: From Judge to Mentor

By Jamie Ruby

Randy JacksonThis year on American Idol, Randy Jackson, who up until this season served as a judge on the panel, will instead be the in-house mentor to the contestants. Recently Jackson talked to the media about the changes and everything else Idol.

Jackson talked to SciFi Vision about the decision to move from judge to mentor. "Honestly, after 12 seasons, as a judge it felt like I'd said and done everything that I really ever desired and needed to and wanted to do as a judge, and I just felt like it was just time to do something else. I'm a big evolution guy. So, I felt like there's no other way I could say it and do it and whatever.

"So, I said, "you know what, I think it's time to kind of step away," and I'm really excited to step into the mentor role, because I get a chance to work more hands on with the kids and help impart some of the wisdom that I've gained over my 35-year career to them."

Exclusive: Being Human - Sam Witwer on the Evolution of Aidan

Exclusive Interview with Sam Witwer for Being Human
Interview by Jamie Ruby
Written by Jamie Ruby

Sam WitwerBeing Human premiered its fourth season last month on Syfy. Star Sam Witwer, who plays vampire Aidan, recently sat down with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview.

This season many of the issues that were not resolved in the first three seasons are going to come back. One of the big issues for Witwer's character is dealing with the idea of children. "The thing we introduced with the Bernie character (Jason Spevack) in season one, the whole sort of reproductive crisis that Aidan has, this idea that being human is wanting some sort of legacy, that manifests differently in different people. For some people, it represents a family that will carry on your tradition, or your memory, or whatever, past your own mortality, and that is something that Aidan has been robbed of over and over again.

"We didn't get to explore this as much as we would have like to, but I hope [the audience] got the feeling that the whole issue about his son has been something that has troubled and plagued him for his entire life.
